Rotational Molding for Plastic Solutions

Fuller has rotational molding capabilities for industrial plastic fabrication. Rotational molding uses a hollow mold that is filled with material and heated. It is then rotated slowly around two perpendicular axes, causing the material to soften and disperse, where it sticks to the interior of the mold. The mold rotates continually at all times during the heating phase to maintain even thickness throughout the part, and to avoid sagging or deformation it also continues to rotate during the cooling phase.

Rotational molding has numerous advantages, including less time to ramp up production, making shorter runs and rush deliveries more feasible. There’s little material wasted in rotational molding, colors can be changed without purging the mold, and uniform thickness of material offers more design flexibility for large pieces.
